Causes for Rejection Excessive hemolysis, chylous serum, gross specimen contamination, inadequate specimen identification

Reference Range <1:8 titer

Use CF titers ge1:64 are suggestive of recent or current infection. Single titers of 1:8-1:32 can be indicative of recent infection since antibody levels persist for only a few weeks or months and thus may warrant further testing. A fourfold or greater change in CF titer between acute and convalescent specimens is considered confirmatory evidence of recent or current infection. Titers <1:8 are considered negative although, if acute, specimens should be followed by convalescent specimens.

Methodology Complement fixation (CF)
