Container Lavender top (K₃ EDTA) tube or one lavender top Microtainer^TM

Collection Routine venipuncture; completely invert tube several times immediately after collection.

Causes for Rejection Specimen clotted or hemolyzed, less than minimum amounts

MCH: 0-7 days: 31.0-37.0 pg, 7 days and older: 26.7-31.9 pg

MCHC: 0-7 days: 30.0-36.0, 7 days and older: 32.3-35/8

RDW: 0-7 days: <14.5, 7 days and older: <14.5

Plt: 0-7 days: 84-475 (x 10⁹/L), 7 days and older: 165-415 (x 10⁹/L)

Retic: 0-7 days: 2.5% to 6.5%, 7 days and older: male: 0.8% to 2.0%, female: 0.8% to 2.3%. See tables.
