Use Quantitation of alcohol level for medical purposes; diagnose alcohol intoxication and determine appropriate therapy. Must be tested as possible cause of unknown coma since alcohol intoxication mimics diabetic coma, cerebral trauma, and drug overdose. Also used to screen for alcoholism and to monitor ethanol treatment for methanol intoxication.
